About us
who we are
The Well Campus Ministry was planted at the University of Arizona in December 2022 and in just a few short years, God has grown this ministry in depth of heart, community, and faith.

From the very beginning, we made a simple commitment: we would create a space of genuine welcome. A place where students can come as they are, wherever they are on their spiritual journey. A place where questions are welcomed, curiosity is encouraged, and every person is treated with care, respect, and dignity.

That commitment remains at the center of everything we do.

Today, The Well is made up of a diverse community of University of Arizona students from many backgrounds and at many different stages of faith. Some are deeply rooted in their Christian walk, others are exploring faith for the first time, and many are somewhere in between. Because of this, we intentionally plan every gathering, conversation, and event so that anyone can walk in and feel comfortable participating.

Students often describe The Well as their “safe space.” Nothing brings us more joy than hearing that. Our hope is that every student who enters finds a community marked by warmth, thoughtful conversation, and authentic friendship.

At the heart of The Well is the good news of God’s grace available to all in Jesus Christ. Together we seek to thoughtfully and honestly explore that grace, trusting that when people encounter it, lives are blessed and God is glorified.

The Well functions as an autonomous and distinct ministry, but has chosen to partner with Trekko Church on the University of Arizona campus. The Well was instrumental in helping plant Trekko, and many of our students were foundational in its early development. Our students remain connected to a variety of local churches, but we support Trekko by encouraging and sending students who feel led to participate there. Whether our students attend Trekko or another church, we believe multi-generational ministry is essential for the spiritual growth and long-term flourishing of college students and we encourage them to seek it.

Amy Kendall
Campus Minister
Amy left the snow and mountains of Boulder, CO to experience life in the desert and all it has to offer. She started her vocation in ministry as a missionary in Moscow, Russia, then served as a Children's Minister in Northern CA when she returned to the US. After completing graduate school at Fuller Theological Seminary, Amy went on to write language books and resources for adoptive families, served as a New Testament Adjunct Professor at Colorado Christian University and led a Campus Ministry at CU Boulder called Climb. She has an incredible husband, three awesome young adult children, a wonderful son-in-law and two cute grandchildren. Amy loves Bible discussions, any kind of travel, home renovation shows, and (when pressed) will admit that she knows way too much pop culture news. Sitting and talking with college students over a cup of coffee is one of Amy's favorite things, so don't hesitate to reach out to her!

Brendin Williamson
Trekko Church Minister
Brendin, along with his wife Kaitlyn, arrived in Tucson in the summer of ‘22. They came here from sunny (but cooler) Los Angeles to plant a church at the University of Arizona that would be connected to The Well campus ministry. Brendin and Kaitlyn met during undergrad at Pepperdine University and married in 2014. Kaitlyn now teaches 3rd grade at Bloom Elementary here in Tucson and is loving it. Brendin and Kaitlyn also have a sweet daughter, MK, who was born in Sep of ‘23. They are so excited to help emerging adults dream big dreams and step into the specific calling God has for their lives. They also love spending time outdoors through hiking, backpacking, and camping. And even though they’re not in college anymore, they are still always down for a late Taco Bell run.

Courtney Farley
Pastoral Resident
We are so excited to have Courtney in our Pastoral Residency program! This apprenticeship, designed for college graduates on a path to ministry, offers holistic spiritual formation combining theological preparation with practical leadership experience.
After spending time in Arkansas at Harding University to pursue a bachelor’s in Bible and Ministry, Courtney knew the Lord was asking her to partner with Him in a new way. Courtney and her husband, Blake, made their way to Tucson in December 2024 as they said “Yes!” to what the Lord had for them at The Well. Over the years, Courtney has served with various churches, partnered with a campus ministry at her university and currently works with the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. She cares deeply about God and His people, and loves learning more about the beauty of creation and discipleship. Some of her many thoughts get recorded through her blogs for Abilene Christian’s Mosaic with a purpose to equip and encourage other christians and faith leaders as they navigate life and the church. Blake also serves faith leaders with his role at the One America Movement as he helps others navigate toxic polarization in their church and community. Both Courtney and Blake make an effort to stay curious, adventurous and well-caffeinated (thanks to Blake!). Learning from those around them and asking questions adds much joy to their life! As she settles into her role, Courtney is eager to help college students discover God’s design and desire for their life!

Alexa Laws
Pastoral Resident
We are so excited to welcome Alexa to our Pastoral Residency program! This apprenticeship, designed for college graduates on a path to ministry, offers holistic spiritual formation combining theological preparation with practical leadership experience.
Lexi comes to us from Jonesboro, Arkansas where she graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Strategic Communication. During her time at A-State, she was actively involved in several campus ministries where she had the incredible opportunity to serve alongside and build relationships with students from all over the world and from every walk of life. Her passion for ministry began when she was just 13 years old. Even then, she felt a clear call to serve God wholeheartedly by investing in the lives of others. When she arrived at college, she knew campus ministry was where she belonged, it was eye-opening to realize how the whole world comes to college campuses. Being part of such a diverse community only deepened her desire to encourage and equip young leaders. Her heart is to walk alongside students as they discover the calling God has placed on their lives. She believe in the power of Scripture, discipleship, and authentic friendship as key essentials to help others grow in their faith and step boldly into who God created them to be.
