Meet The Team

The Well's Student Leaders are prayerfully chosen to serve because of their faithfulness and heart for ministry. They have the opportunity to work closely with ministers and receive mentoring for personal faith growth as we encourage the development of the gifts that God has given them. They add ideas, energy, and fun. They plan and lead events, facilitate discussion groups, share their faith, invite friends and coordinate outreach. Simply put, they are the heartbeat of our ministry...and we're crazy about them.

Shawna Veenstra

Hello! My name is Shawna Veenstra, and I am a Junior in Music Education. I am originally from Zeeland, Michigan, but have loved living in Arizona for the past two years. I love spending my free time singing, playing piano, and baking, and I am a direct care worker for people with special needs. My favorite part about the Well is the tight community that we have. I’m so excited to be back on the leadership team for the Well this semester, and can't wait to see God moving in so many lives this year!

Hi! My name is Allyson Tate (although everyone calls me Ally) and I am a Junior majoring in Marketing. I was born and raised in Tucson and love to show people my favorite places. When I am not studying or at the U of A, you can find me working at the Vail Coffee Stop, reading books or hanging with my friends. I am a bit of a nerd, so I can talk all day about my favorite books and TV shows, or playing board games. My favorite thing about the Well is the community and fun that we have together. It is my hope that those who come to our gatherings feel welcome and at home in our craziness!

Julia Davis

My name is Julia Davis and I am from El Paso, Texas. I am a junior majoring in Natural Resources with an emphasis in wildlife conservation and management. When I’m not at the Well I like to spend my time hiking, playing the piano, and fencing! I am so excited to be a part of the team this year and can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned for us. The Well has become a second family to me, which has been vital in my growth as a college student away from home. I hope that all the students feel welcome and wanted in our family that we have built. There’s always room for an extra seat around the table.

Hello my name is Dorine. I am from Phoenix, Arizona. This is my senior year at the University of Arizona as a transfer student and I am majoring in nursing. In my free time I love hitting the gym, hiking, and just dancing freely in my room. My favorite thing about The Well are the retreats and dinner nights that are composed of so much fun! I love connecting with others students while learning to "be with God", instead of just "doing for God".

David Marquez

Hi! My name's David! I'm a Cyber-Operations major, strictly online, and an Army National Guard Soldier. I'm from a small town east of Tucson called Morenci, AZ, and work full time there as an industrial electrician at a mine. In my free time I like to workout, snowboard, go hiking and backpacking, and of course working with The Well behind the scenes and on the weekends when I'm off work. The Well has helped me blossom in my spiritual journey, and I have grown a lot as a person and a leader, as well as grown closer to God. You can feel free to always reach out to me, even if I'm not always physically present due to my responsibilities.

University presence

The Well Campus Ministry is a registered ASUA student organization on the University of Arizona campus. This means we have received approval to meet on campus and provide spiritual activities for students. We are also members of the University Religious Council which promotes spiritual benefits for students, faculty and staff at the UA. Membership affirms that our group adheres to practices that are helpful, ethical and have the best interest of students at heart. The Well Campus Ministry welcomes all students to be members of our organization, regardless of their religious beliefs.
